I have had Home Inspections carried out, both here in Canada and in the UK, whenever we have previously moved house (more than a dozen times). The Inspection Report provided by Ken Oldale this last week (Buyer’s Choice Home Inspections Chilliwack) has proved to be one of, if not the, best (and we have had some good ones, previously). You couldn’t expect a more thorough Inspection, including bonuses like Radon testing and checking for Recalls on appliances, all received within just a couple of days too! Such good value as well – very reasonable charges for his services. I highly recommend this company

Had them inspect a new mobile home I’m purchasing alongside the side shop and shed. Booking an appointment was very easy. By the time you show up to discuss the report in person he already has everything noted down pictures and all. He’ll tell you any red flags or things to note for the future! Everything’s super fast and done well. Not even two days later and I got a full very well detailed report emailed to me highlighting every part of the house that works well, needs work or is in need of repair now. I arrived on time and Ken was already on the job. He did a thorough job that took almost three hours. At the end he gave a verbal report on the things that I might want to do after taking possession. The report was sixty six pages with little boiler plate. There were numerous photos with arrows pointing out things that need attention or that would be helpful with operation and maintenance of the building.

This is a bit of a dated review, but we had a very negative experience with this company in the past with an inspector named Wayne B. Post-inspection, Wayne advised us that his company does not inspect crawlspaces or attics. How odd. We obviously would not chosen this business had we been advised of these major omissions prior to inspection. Wayne still demanded a hefty and immediate payment for an incomplete job. We reluctantly paid him.As it turns out, we later discovered that both the crawlspace and attic had major hidden issues that cost us a lot of money. We suspect that these issues were known, and that Wayne colluded with a dishonest realtor. This part is of course speculation, but we base it on these two obvious, unexpected omissions. Overall, it was an expensive lesson for us. One lesson learned – **never use a home inspector recommended by a realtor connected to a deal. Our expensive inspection was quite useless in our case.I’m not sure if this company has changed ownership or not. If it has, I apologize for the negative review. However, if Wayne still works there, I advise taking a hard pass.

Used this company for a home inspection. So many things missed. No attention to detail.1. Illegal plumbing under sink.2. Hot water piping sizing incorrect goes from 1/2” to 3/4” into tank on cold side.3. Permitter drains over flow.4. No bathroom fan5. Cracks in stucco6. Gutters fullThe list goes on.After contacting them about these issues just excuses, such as it wasn’t raining when I inspected so I wouldn’t see the drain overflowing. You just had to lift the cover to see how full they were. Much better choices out there. By no means is this guy a master inspector.

Ken did a very thorough job with our inspection. He was able to fit us in with a time restraint for removing subjects. His inspection report included photos and videos of anything of concern. I would definitely recommend him.
