I bought a 1950s fixer-upper fisherman’s cottage on the coast and engaged Dave Martens to assess my work assessment. Dave provided a checklist and defined the scope of the inspection prior to the onsite visit for my review and comments.Our onsite inspection was thorough, covered all aspects of the cottage. Dave identified numerous defects (there were quite a few), provided repair options, and answered my questions. Although the list was long, he helped me prioritize the tasks into a manageable plan. Dave’s answers clearly demonstrated his experience as a craftsman, and he approached solutions practically. An unexpected benefit was the cost savings he identified.
