Brad came out to Bamfield to complete an inspection on a large home we were considering buying. He did an incredibly thorough job, and helped keep problems and fixes in perspective. He gave a clear explanation of issues, possible fixes and did not sugarcoat anything. We ended up with a really clear idea of what we were getting into, and he even followed up afterwards to see how things were going. The report he generated was great, and now that we've purchased the home, we will use it as a reference for prioritizing future repairs.

I cannot say enough about the service that was provided. Brad was knowledgable and professional. He was able to explain his findings in a clear and concise manner. His detailed, and well formatted report will serve as a valuable guide for upcoming repairs for years to come. I especially liked that at the end of the report there is a general summary of typical household repairs and the average cost of making those repairs. Brad's home inspection was very thorough; he was knowledgeable and professional during our walk through and was able to answer any questions we had. Upon pointing out some little details we never would have noticed on our own, we commented that he had a great eye, which he jokingly said was 'a curse'. Well, his curse is a blessing for us home buyers! He put us at ease knowing what we were getting with such a big purchase. He also included some technical advice for maintaining the property, which is a great resource. Overall excellent service!

As a local Real Estate Agent, I depend on the expertise of inspectors in pretty much every sale I make. Without a doubt Brad and the Team at A Buyer's Choice have come through on the behalf of any of my Buyers that have employed them to inspect a prospective property for defects, outdated or failing components of a home, or just a honey-do list. This team has the knowledge to walk the lay person through major and minor repairs, make appropriate professional recommendations, and to offer support with open communication even after the inspection. They are always included in my list of recommendations because of their professionalism, knowledge, advanced equipment to take a deep dive into cold spots behind the walls, check for moisture, and they check the appliances which many inspection companies don't. This crew is knowledgeable, professional, trustworthy, communicative, diligent, and real. Pretty much everything we want for our Buyers, as a Realtor. Did I mention their reports are skookum. Our experience with Brad was exceptional. He is the premier choice of inspectors among many of Nanaimo's realtors, for good reason. His solid experience in the construction industry, combined with his painstaking attention to detail, reassured us that he had captured all aspects of our potential home purchase.Brad carefully explained every issue with the house that needed attention, and he presented them in priority. E.g. Roof - immediately; furnace and heat pump - replace within another five years; electrical service - 100 amp adequate for current home requirements; a few other small details that needed tending to, etc. He was calm, humorous, professional, unrushed, and unfazed by our "ignorant" questions. (No such thing, apparently, as a dumb question.)The next morning we received our report, complete with full details and photos - all 75 pages!We wish he lived next door so we could be the pesky senior neighbours, but in the absence of that, we feel we're off to a solid start with our new home.We could not recommend Brad highly enough.
