Our journey started in Halifax, Nova Scotia – in 2005 by a Real Estate veteran who was tired of encountering unprofessional and unqualified home inspectors. After just two years, we became the largest home inspection franchise in the country.
In 2010, the company moved home office to Pompano Beach Florida and began its US and International Expansion. The company continues to expand throughout the US, Canada, and worldwide.

ABCHI Franchise Frequently Asked Questions
To be awarded an ABCHI franchise the franchise fee investment ranges from $23,900 for a small size territory to $39,900 for a large size territory. Investment is based on the population of the desired territory.
If the Franchise is already awarded in your area there may be the opportunity to join their team as a Sub-Franchise which has an investment of approximately $12,900.
Included in both the franchise and sub-franchise fee is full technical, field, business & operations training, digital and traditional marketing, print marketing, clothing, software, specialized tools,as well as the support the ABCHI Family team of Inspectors. This is not an exhaustive list.
Some areas may have multiple ABCHI Franchises depending on the population. Once a territory is awarded the Franchise owner can add additional Inspectors (Sub-Franchisees) to their team.
This empowers an ABCHI Franchisee to scale their business, increase market share and build their own local team. It also provides the opportunity for the Franchise owner to step back from doing as many inspections themselves over time and enjoy a better work-life balance.
In some provinces/states, yes. Inspector licensing is regional.
ABCHI facilitates this process so you meet all licensing requirements. Even with a lack of mandatory licensing across North America we operate as if there is licensing. Each of our Inspectors receives extensive technical, field, business & operations training – no different then if someone wishes to become a trades person. They apprentice first & then become a Journeymen/woman. All ABCHI Inspectors are trained and certified at level that exceeds the highest national level.
In fact, ABCHI Inspectors are training at a level so high they could do an Inspection anywhere in North America that has mandatory licencing in place.
We recruit for personality and train for skill. Each of our Inspectors receives extensive technical, field, business & operations training. We really are looking for those with dynamite personalities first.
This makes ABCHI pretty unique.
If you have trades experience – great. If you do not – no problem, as we include the technical trades and in-field training with every Franchise.
As with any business, there are start up costs. ABCHI franchises are designed as a turnkey business.
Included in the franchise fee is full technical, field, business & operations training, digital and traditional marketing, print marketing, clothing, software, specialized tools, as well as the support of over 200 ABCHI Franchisees. This is not an exhaustive list.
During the franchisee interview process we provide full details as part of our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD).
95% of those who join a home inspection franchise are still in business in year five. On the flip side, 80% of independent (non-franchise) Inspectors are out of business by year three.
Some believe they only need an “inspection course” and they are ready to launch their business. If only it was that easy! Most who take just “a course” never do an inspection in their life. Here is a recent blog about what you get when you join a franchise. As well, our Franchise Information Guide has loads of info.
So why go the franchise route? Typically you love doing inspections but want help on the business side. The real edge is in the ongoing business, marketing and sales support. Not to mention access to real estate brokerages through affiliations and mentorship. While out doing inspections, ABCHI Inspectors have a mean machine working for them in the background.
When you join our team you instantly gain over 200+ teammates who are all going through the same thing you are – who are not your competition. You become part of our #ABCHIFamily.
