I’ve had a few home inspections done over the last few years and this is the best product I’ve had. I have no hesitation in recommending A Buyers Choice Home Inspection. I coordinated this home inspection via a recommendation from my realtor as I had no local knowledge of who to use. The permission form is automated and etransfer is used for payment. This makes the transaction part very easy. The inspection report is very detailed and provides very good explanations with well annotated photos to describe things of note. I was not able to participate in the inspection so was solely reliant on the report, and I don’t feel like I’m “in the dark” on any aspects of the report. Brad Clark did a first rate job – I’m very pleased.

Very impressed. Austin was very thorough, polite, personable, reasonably priced, and offers free technical advice for as long as you own the property. I’ve purchased a number of properties over the years and this is the first time the inspector has met me afterwards and walked me through and around the property to explain their findings before sending the report (63 pages for a 2 bedroom condo), which arrived the next day. He also provides a link to a booklet that lists typical home repair costs and maintenance schedule, which is especially helpful if you’re a first time buyer.

I never met James as I live some distance away, but he came highly recommended by my realtor. His emailed report ran to 64 pages with all kinds of issues identified and photographed. All were relatively minor maintenance issues but there were a few major ones.Net result is he saved me about 10 times his cost and gave me a better idea of what I was buying and what questions to ask..If you buy a house, get him to inspect it. You can’t go wrong.

Austin was prompt, polite, very thorough and professional, and was able to clearly and succinctly communicate his findings in both his personal debrief and in his extensive and clearly presented report.In preparation for his inspection Austin asked if we had any areas of special concern about the house we would like addressed. During his inspection he was in, on, under and around the entire house and property. He was on the roof, in the attic, in the crawl space, in cabinets and in all spaces of each and every room. He managed to get into small spaces and checked even difficult to reach areas including corners of the attic and remote areas of a shallow crawl space. Directly after his inspection, on site, he did a walk through of the property with us to debrief, identifying areas of concern and his overall impressions. It also gave us the opportunity to ask questions for clarification.His extensive, well laid out report arrived within a day of his site visit. His observations and recommendations were clearly presented and were accompanied by clear photographs where deficiencies or areas of concern were visibly outlined to help guide the reader.Money very well spent on a home purchase.

Our experience with Brad was exceptional. He is the premier choice of inspectors among many of Nanaimo’s realtors, for good reason. His solid experience in the construction industry, combined with his painstaking attention to detail, reassured us that he had captured all aspects of our potential home purchase.Brad carefully explained every issue with the house that needed attention, and he presented them in priority. E.g. Roof – immediately; furnace and heat pump – replace within another five years; electrical service – 100 amp adequate for current home requirements; a few other small details that needed tending to, etc. He was calm, humorous, professional, unrushed, and unfazed by our “ignorant” questions. (No such thing, apparently, as a dumb question.)The next morning we received our report, complete with full details and photos – all 75 pages!We wish he lived next door so we could be the pesky senior neighbours, but in the absence of that, we feel we’re off to a solid start with our new home.We could not recommend Brad highly enough.
