Ben has been immersed in the trades from a young age, beginning his apprenticeship early and earning his Red Seal Carpenter certification soon after. His foundation as a craftsman instilled a meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to quality. As a self-employed contractor, he completed a wide range of residential renovations and new builds, developing expertise in both residential and light commercial construction. He later co-founded and managed a commercial and industrial insulation company, gaining valuable knowledge of commercial building systems, hydronics, and safety protocols.
Despite his success in the commercial sector, Ben always intended to return to his roots in residential construction. Recognizing the need for trustworthy, high-value home inspectors in the Ottawa area, he joined A Buyer’s Choice Home Inspections to combine his technical expertise with a genuine passion for helping clients make confident, informed decisions. He finds the most rewarding part of home inspection to be guiding clients through one of life’s biggest investments and providing honest insights that inspire confidence and clarity.
Driven by curiosity and lifelong learning, Ben stays current with industry trends and continually expands his knowledge of building systems. Raised in Perth, Ontario, he learned the importance of hard work, honesty, and integrity which are values that continue to guide him today. Now living in Carleton Place with his partner and their loyal dog, Ben enjoys the outdoors, traveling, tackling renovation projects, and gathering with loved ones over good food and wine.
