Easiest 5 star in ages - Derek’s previous trade experience in foundation, concrete and electrical pays huge dividends in his reviews, and guidance through inspections. Used him twice so far and definitely would recommend him to anyone. Willing to explain, and ‘show-n-tell’ any concerns, his or yours! his recommendation of engaging sewer scopes for older builds is pure genius and saved us from assuming a fully blocked sewer on a property. Highly recommend his services!

Derek was timely and incredibly thorough with his inspection on our home from the 1980s. As someone with very limited knowledge of homes and the problems that come with them, it was refreshing to have someone who brings 20+ years of experience (10 inspecting, 10+ in the construction industry) go through the house and highlight everything from problems of high importance, and explaining them like I’m five years old, to problems we should keep an eye on but aren’t an immediate concern. Derek was recommended to us by a friend who recently purchased a house. We were told that he "tells it like it is", which I would say is very true. I have heard about home inspection experiences from other home buyers, where the inspectors did not point out several defects that were found later and they did not communicate very much with the buyers during the inspection. Derek was a recommended home inspector from my real estate broker and I have to say that he did an absolutely fantastic job at getting us the information that we needed in regards to our first home purchase. He was likeable, he was knowledgeable and most of all he was very easygoing when it came to the payment that I owed him which because his credit card reader wasn't working he was actually able to still send me the report with my word that I would pay him in the next couple days and so that was really excellent customer service because not only did he provide a very very detailed report but he also allowed for a bit of time frame as he knew it was an urgent nature that we got the report in the timely fashion so 100% I recommend this guy. He was thorough, he knew what he was looking at and he really enjoys what he does so I hope that more people will take this experience from me and take note to get him to take care of your home inspection because he definitely cares in what he does which shows in his work and his nature.
