Ben has been immersed in the trades from a young age, beginning his apprenticeship as a young adult and earning his Red Seal Carpenter certification early on. His start as a craftsman instilled a strong attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to quality. As a self-employed contractor, he completed a wide range of residential renovations and new builds, developing expertise in both residential and light commercial construction. He later co-founded and managed a commercial and industrial insulation company, gaining in-depth knowledge of commercial building systems, hydronics, and safety protocols. Despite his success in the commercial sector, Ben always intended to return to his roots in residential and commercial construction.
Recognizing the need for trustworthy, high-value home inspectors in the Ottawa area, he joined A Buyer’s Choice Home Inspections to offer clients technical expertise paired with a genuine passion for helping them make confident, informed decisions. Ben finds the most rewarding part of home inspection to be guiding clients through one of life’s biggest investments, providing honest insights that inspire confidence and clarity. He values building trust-based relationships with clients and realtors, and he prides himself on being a reliable partner throughout the home-buying process and beyond.
Continually driven by curiosity, Ben is committed to staying on top of industry trends and expanding his knowledge of building systems. Raised in the small town of Perth, Ontario, where he learned the importance of hard work, honesty, and integrity, Ben now lives in Carleton Place with his partner and their loyal dog. He enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, tackling renovation projects, and gathering with loved ones over good food and wine. Whether he’s hiking, golfing, or enjoying a quiet moment by the water, Ben brings the same dedication and authenticity to his clients as he does to his personal life, ensuring each one feels supported and valued throughout their home-buying journey.
