Stuart missed visible asbestos that was in our house. He inspected our house then years later we’ve listed it for sale and realtors walking through it identified it. Very disappointing that a realtor could identify it and a home inspector couldn’t.

I had this home inspection as part of a purchase offer. Stuart was incredibly thorough, checking every detail throughout. Because of the inspection, I dodged a bullet. He discovered things that were hidden under new flooring and drywall that would have required major work to fix. Late to submit this, I had Paul, perform a full home inspection for a property in Milton June 2025. I appreciated the fact that he was there on time and ready to go. Fans of Mr. Websdale will likely take this as simply sour grapes. but I still feel a warning is warranted to potential customers. Mr. Websdale performed a home inspection on a house for which I was the seller. Mr. Websdale did correctly note a water seepage through an area of our block foundation, which we were unaware of so that was actually correct and helpful to us. However, he noted seeing “daylight” in our attic and listed several issues that could be caused by a hole in the roof. It was a vent. A properly placed and well functioning vent. He indicated that there was mold in the attic (all attics have mold, so that is fine, and ours was very mild) and he suggested that the soffits are closed or covered, however, having had 2 different attic specialists in the attic since, we have been informed that the ventilation is very good, and therefore, the soffits cannot be blocked or covered. Furthermore, he indicated that the gas fireplace did not work and the pilot light was out. The pilot light was, in fact, lit and clearly visible even from a distance. It has never been out in the 7 years we have owned this property, and as such the list of possible problems related to an unlit pilot light was quite unnecessary. In addition, the fireplace turns on immediately, when the switch is turned on. I have no idea how this error could have been made. Everyone makes mistakes (not usually one that causes a house sale to fall through based on several important inspection errors) and the important thing is to learn from them. Hope this helps.

Paul’s team are friendly and fast communicators. We were able to get our inspection done quickly. Have given a lower rating because of one relatively big miss on our inspection related to the roof. To be fair, the inspection report does state that every roof should be certified by an actual roofer, but our inspection report also claimed a minimal amount of mold in the attic which some additional vents would address. Turned out to be a substantial amount of mold requiring an immediate and full roof replacement (validated by 5 different roofing companies). Had we have known this, we would not have purchased the house. Im sure this team is usually very good, given the high reviews. This is why we went with them, but in this case we can’t give full marks.

A highly disappointing experience. We paid over $500 for a home inspection that was supposed to take 4–5 hours, but they rushed through it in just one hour. Worse yet, the report contained completely inaccurate information—claiming our furnace was from 2009 with 69K BTU, when in reality (which we unfortunately discovered after it failed due to old age), it was from 2001 with 90K BTU. If they can’t even get basic details right, how can they be trusted with a full home inspection? Absolutely would not recommendAdded after looking at business owner reply: I stand by my experience. The inspection felt rushed, and the issues we later uncovered—like the basement moisture damage—were exactly what we trusted an inspection to identify. As for the furnace, I only realized the discrepancy when it failed due to age, which contradicts the details in your report. If the inspection indeed lasted nearly three hours, the thoroughness of the findings does not reflect that.The information in your report was incorrect, and a professional inspector should know where to look for the correct manufacturing date and BTU rating.Moreover, I am not the only one who has raised concerns about rushed service with little to no explanation. Other reviewers have echoed similar experiences. Instead of dismissing valid feedback, I suggest accepting the bitter truth and improving the quality of service you provide.

Steve was very professional , arrived really early (appointment was at 10am- finished at 1pm). Honest and did due diligence with his Job. Steve went through every scribbles and corner of the property. When I mean every corner he did. Also let me know all that needs to be fixed right away if I as getting the property and what was not a rush and also if you open up to him can let you know if it’s worth it. In the future if I am fortunate to have /buy another place I’d use his service again.He also travels max 2hrs.

Paul Gorman of A Buyer’s Choice inspection was able to inspect the house on the same day I ordered the inspection! I wasn’t there during the inspection but according to my brother Paul showed up on time and did a fantastic inspection on the house. When I received the report, it’s 40 pages with photos and details on everything! I was able to request all repairs and improvements according to the report summary and recommendations from Paul’s inspection report and to top it off, Paul will offer free technical advice for as long as I own the house! In our case they were only a few minors matters to address. The service from A Buyers Choice Home Inspections Halton Hamilton is outstanding from start to finish, from Shawna’s help booking the appointment even though we had to revise the appointment from our end a couple of times to Paul’s careful, methodical inspection of the property we are buying. As we went through the proprety inside and out Paul carefully inspected everything and took time to point out and explain any concerns and how they should be rectified. We received his written report by email less than 24 hours after the inspection and again everything Paul observed, good and bad, was clearly explained in writing with recommendations to rectify concerns clearly spelled out. I had a couple of questions after reviewing the report which Paul responded right away. We even received an email from Paul a couple of days later thanking us for our business and saying that included with our inspection is free technical advice for as long as we own the property! It can’t get much better than that!If I could give Paul and Shawna 5 Stars Plus I would! We worked with Steve Callen to have a home inspection conducted on a house we were offering on. He was very professional, answered questions as we had them throughout the inspection, and took the time to do it right. The report he provided was more than just the standard “check boxes” type of report, it included pictures, descriptions, etc. No report is perfect, there are some things inspectors can’t see, but at least knowing some of the pieces have been looked at by a professional helps give you some confidence when purchasing a house.
